Understand visits, unique visitors and missing data

Follow these practical steps in Visitor Counter, from configuration to checking the result.

  1. 01How do I read counters and charts
  2. 02Why is data missing or different from what I expect
  3. 03How do I choose who views data or receives messages
How the steps connect

1. How do I read counters and charts?

Choose the same period when comparing two results.

Unique visitors counts distinct people. Visits may include repeated visits by the same person.

Use charts and comparisons to identify activity changes.

2. Why is data missing or different from what I expect?

Check the selected platform, location and filter period.

Check that the object is registered and still communicating with the service.

A visit must be detected and sent to appear. A unique visitor count may differ from the number of visits.

If the issue persists, give support the location, time and object UUID.

3. How do I choose who views data or receives messages?

In Team, grant Visitor Counter access to the appropriate members.

Set their messages in the team’s Messages section.

If using bot private messages, also check System Bot permissions.
